According to The National Adult Literacy Survey, one in two adults in Beaver County is educationally disadvantaged. That's more than 30,000 adults in the area who are functioning at lower than a sixth grade level.

Whether a person has been working for years and has let the basics slip or has never had the foundation necessary to develop the skills, Adult Literacy Action can help.

Since 1978, Adult Literacy Action has been helping Beaver County residents gain skills essential for survival. These skills are taught through Adult Literacy Action's well-trained network of professional instructors and hundreds of volunteers. Instruction is available to adults privately and in learning centers conveniently located throughout the county.

Adult Literacy Action helps adults to develop or refine skills in reading, writing, math, English as a second language, family literacy and workforce education. If you know somebody who needs refinement of basic skills, or if you would like to volunteer your time to help others unlock their full potential, contact Adult Literacy Action.
